FACTORY OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are a well-established, long-standing bespoke kitchen, bedroom and whole home furniture manufacturer producing a wide range of made to measure furniture in our factory in Ashby de la Zouch. We are looking for an enthusiastic Factory Operations Manager with the drive, experience and high standards to manage our production facility, create a remarkable level of service for our clients and continue to build on the outstanding reputation of our brand.

We have a manufacturing team of 4 and we are looking for an outstanding and ambitious leader who has exceptional people skills as well as excellent precision and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a skilled team providing guidance and support to enable the whole team to perform consistently at their best by managing workflow and ensuring a safe and productive working environment. You will understand the importance of maintaining machinery and equipment and have extremely high standards in health and safety management. You will also need to be strategic and analytical, able to step back and see how the smallest improvements fit within the larger processes and that the solutions to problems are implemented with team training and follow up and are incorporated into the systems and processes of the business.

This role is an instrumental part of the senior management team and as such you will be able to demonstrate an ability to think both strategically and analytically and have a higher-level overview to understand how you and your team can implement and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste. You will understand how your role in production fits into the Company’s overall business plan for growth.

With a small team, you will need to have a hands-on approach requiring technical expertise in bespoke woodworking and production management. You must be willing to learn the processes quickly and get involved with every aspect of the process both on-site in our factory workshop and in our clients’ homes.  You must be able to work proactively with our installation team to ensure the smooth transition of the job from factory to site.

Your responsibilities will cover the entire manufacturing process from meeting with the sales personnel for the handover of an order to create components lists for manufacture; ordering materials and maintaining stock; managing the team and participating in production; setting up the job ready for delivery ensuring high levels of quality control throughout and providing a successful handover to the installation team as well as supporting clients with aftercare and servicing as required. There will also be occasions when you have a direct customer facing role either in the showroom or in clients’ homes so you should be confident and friendly in your presentation and be able to communicate clearly.
